Kart Group—D3 Dubai Design District—Office Blinds

Kart Group designs interiors for a living. Their D3 office had floor to ceiling glass on three sides and by 11am the glare hit every screen in the studio. Designers were tilting laptops, squinting at fabric swatches, moving desks around just to see straight.

They picked D3 for the obvious reason. It is the address that tells clients you belong in design. Every studio around them is glass, light, exposed concrete. Moving anywhere else was never on the table.

The problem was the same glass that made the address desirable was working against them daily. Direct sun hit the workstations from midday to late afternoon. Screen glare made colour matching impossible. Fabric samples looked different under the harsh light than they did in client meetings later. Nobody could trust what they were seeing on their own desks.

They did not want plain roller blinds pulled down all day. A design studio in D3 closing itself off from light looks like it is hiding something. The whole point of the space was openness. Blocking the glass fully was never going to work for a brand built on visual clarity.

Kart Group reached out to Aura Curtains after seeing our blinds work in a few other D3 studios nearby. They booked a site visit within days.

What Aura Curtains Recommended

The studio needed light control without losing the open glass look. Aura Curtains picked motorized aluminium venetian blinds for them. The slats could be angled to cut direct glare while keeping the space bright and visually open from outside.

How the Installation Worked at Kart Group's Studio

Aura measured each glass panel individually since no two walls in the studio were identical. The blinds were fitted with motorized control synced to the studio's existing smart panel, so staff could adjust light angle from their desks without walking to a window.

The Glare Is Gone

Designers used to tilt their screens away from the glass just to see their own work. Now the slats cut the glare before it hits a single desk. Colour matching happens the same way in the morning as it does at 4pm.

The Open Glass Look Is Untouched

Kart Group chose D3 for the visibility. Walk past the studio now and the glass still reads open, still reads glass. The blinds sit flush and barely visible when angled open, so the studio still looks like a design studio, not an office hiding behind shutters.

The Studio Feels Like It Was Built This Way

Nobody visiting thinks the blinds were a patch job. The motorized venetians read like part of the original build, matched to the aluminium framing already in the space.
